ANDICAM I- and J-band monitoring of bright inner Galactic late-type stars

چکیده
Abstract Time-series photometry in the I and J bands of 57 inner Galactic late-type stars, highly probable red supergiant (RSG) is presented here. 38% sample presents significant photometric variations. The variations appear to be correlated, with ΔI ∝ ΔJ × 2.2, ranging from 0.04–1.08 mag, 0.03–0.52 mag. New short periods (<1000 d) could estimated for eight stars range 167–433 d. This work confirms that not contaminated by large-amplitude asymptotic giant branch stars. Furthermore, despite large errors distance, period–luminosity diagram suggests populating same sequence as known RSGs.

Long-Term V-Band Monitoring of the Bright Stars of M33 at the Wise Observatory
We have conducted a long-term V -band photometric monitoring of M33 on 95 nights during four observing seasons (2000 – 2003). A total number of 6418 lightcurves of bright objects in the range of 14 – 21 mag have been obtained. All measurements are publicly available. A total of 127 new variables were detected, of which 28 are periodic. Ten previously known nonperiodic variables were identified ...
متن کاملSpatial Diffusion of Stars in the Inner Galactic Bulge
Star formation in the inner few hundred pc of the Galactic bulge occurs in a flattened molecular layer called the central molecular zone (CMZ). Serabyn & Morris (1996) suggest that the star formation in the CMZ has been sustained for the lifetime of the Galaxy, and that the resulting agglomeration of stars formed in the CMZ has resulted in the prominent r−2 stellar density cusp at the Galactic ...

Early type stars at high galactic latitudes
We present the result of differential spectral analyses of a further four apparently normal B-type stars. Abundance anomalies (e.g. He, C, N enrichment), slow rotation and/or high gravities suggest that the programme stars are evolved low-mass B-type stars. In order to trace their evolutionary status several scenarios are discussed. Post-AGB evolution can be ruled out. PG 0229+064 and PG 1400+3...
متن کاملMetal abundances of A-type stars in galactic clusters III. α Persei: new results
We complete our study (Hui-Bon-Hoa et al. 1997) of the abundances of Mg, Ca, Sc, Cr, Fe, and Ni in α Per cluster stars using new spectra of two stars of the previous sample and also adding two more objects. The new spectra of BD +48◦894 and HD 21527 show that the former has an almost solar composition whereas the latter is an Am star with the iron peak elements being all enhanced and Ca margina...
